TO: Fort Wayne City Council
January 27, 2014
I am writing to show my support for the Passenger Rail Project and urging that the city commit the 200,000$USD needed for the existing economic development funds. This is essential in the ever growing city of Fort Wayne and its importance for growth and development. We have seen from other economic impact reports like the multi-modal commercial transport project to connect Fort Wayne to Norfolk, Virginia that it would pay off greatly for the future. This would increase tourism and the potential to gain talented and skilled laborers with the ease of rail travel. We must look at what other cities and countries have done here domestically and abroad. High-speed rail would not only extend to personal savings, but also ecological savings and changes by reducing the burning of fossil fuels. I am a tax paying, well educated, and informed citizen that support the Passenger Rail Project for High-Speed Rail with great support.
Support my future and other young college graduates to stay and develop our area. It is a great place to raise a family, but it is also one boring place to live for a growing youth population. This is the first step in continuing the economic development goals and making our city a place to call home for everyone.
